Spicy Tomato Sauce


Ingredients

2 plum tomatoes

3 cups canned tomatoes

1 Spanish onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, chopped

1 cup basil

1 tbsp crushed red pepper

¼ cup olive oil

Pinch salt

Pinch black pepper

Pinch sugar

1 tbsp butter

Preparation

Add olive oil to a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion and heat until translucent, a few minutes. Add the crushed red chile flake. Add the plum tomatoes and let cook for a few minutes. Add whole canned tomatoes and crush with a spoon. 

Let it all work together, about 3 minutes. 

Add it to the blender. Blend, starting on low, then increasing speed. Add a pinch of sugar, salt and black pepper. 

To Serve: 

Cooked bucatini 

Add butter to mount sauce in pan. Add bucatini to pan. Toss to coat. Add some basil and parm, serve.
